The Freedom of Choice – Not an Identity Package
Today we often see how objects are linked to identity. Shopping no longer simply means choosing an item – it becomes a choice of role and worldview. Many brands build on personal longing and the collective experience of identity crisis, persuading us that by buying a cup, a tea, or a T-shirt, we also buy into a lifestyle.
We believe the meaning of an object should come from the person who uses it.
Through SEDO creations, we offer the freedom of choice. Our objects may carry stories, meanings, even symbolic power – but never pre-fabricated ones. Meaning is always added by the one who holds the object.
The only shared identity of The world of SEDO is quality. We approach material, form, and meaning with a researcher’s mindset, a critical eye, and the care of craftsmanship. We do not offer ideology or a ready-made program, but freedom – the freedom to decide what you see in an object and what story you connect to it.
Among our collections you will also find artefact-based historical reconstructions. In these cases, our task is not to manufacture meaning, but to ensure historical authenticity – to pay respectful homage to the craftsmanship of the past. Such objects are born at the intersection of research, craftmanship, and historical responsibility: they are not ideological symbols, but points of connection to the lived reality of human history.
We take this commitment seriously – so much so that we created the Historical Authenticity Scale, a transparent system through which anyone can see how closely each object corresponds to documented historical sources, based on our own research.
Within our collections, both a historical re-enactor, a modern pagan, a collector, or anyone with a sensitivity to contemporary aesthetics can find something of personal value. Our goal is for everyone to recognise something that speaks to them – not because we tell them to, but because they discover it themselves.
All SEDO pieces share a single, honest intention: to create genuine value. We do not think in terms of consumer groups, but in terms of individuals – distinct perspectives, life stories, and connections.
The world of SEDO does not offer an identity – but a space for interpretation.
Not ready-made answers – but open questions.
Not costumes – but possibilities.
Not roles – but decisions.

Thank you for choosing The world of SEDO!
