Rosaries

First of all, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Orsolya Kiszely and Márton Mandeville for their invaluable help and advice regarding object-making practices and theological authenticity.
Guided by their insights, our collection was created, featuring—both in terms of materials used and the construction of the strands—a 90% authentic*, history-inspired prayer strand with an almost jewelry-like character as well**.

.
* As none of the rosaries are direct reconstructions of a single, authenticated archaeological find, we cannot claim 100% authenticity. However, both the structure/construction of the strands and the materials used can be closely aligned with those used in Central and Eastern Europe between the 10th and 16th centuries.

** In terms of materials, these pieces likewise correspond to historically used materials; their design, however, differs slightly, and therefore they can be considered approximately 60–65% historically authentic.

Among the crosses you will find cast bronze pieces by Károly Dittera, as well as beautiful treasure-hunted brass finds by Judit (including the two largest ones), along with other special items that also came into our possession through Judit’s ongoing treasure-hunting research.

.
The meticulous and careful work of drilling the cherry stones and polishing the Dittera crosses was carried out by Béla, while the final assembly of the strands—following some shared planning—was done by Judit.

.
We truly loved working on this—for us, exceptionally special—collection. From sourcing the individual elements, through the fine handcrafting processes and professional consultations, all the way to the final assembly of the rosaries, every step was carried out by us. At the end of such a process, it is especially inspiring to see the finished pieces and to wonder where they will eventually find their home, and with whom.
Please receive them with love—and feel free to ask us anything!

IMPORTANT

.
This collection is entirely unique. The strands are not available in serially produced versions, primarily because over 90% of the materials used were sourced individually, rather than through wholesale suppliers.

.
In creating this group of objects, it was also a key consideration that anyone choosing one of these pieces can be confident they are selecting something truly one of a kind, which will not appear elsewhere in the same form. Whether chosen for religious reasons or as an accessory to historical or reenactment attire, we wanted the irreproducibility of each piece to support the future owner in forming a personal—perhaps even deeply intimate—relationship with the object.
